Food Heroes Unite!

Say whatever you want about President Obama, but his wife is one class act. Michelle Obama's White House garden initiative, begun to help increase awareness among American children about what, exactly, constitutes healthy eating, is one of the coolest things I've seen a first lady do.

Mrs. Obama's recent plan to involve Iron Chef America (my favorite show) in an attempt to spread publicity about her educational endeavors was genius. The show has a huge fan base, and features some of America's most influential and talented chefs.

The White House Iron Chef America challenge: chefs Comerford and Flay will go up against chefs Lagasse and Batali to create a meal that uses mainly ingredients from the White House garden. I can't wait to see what happens.

Here's to you, Mrs. Obama. Kitt's Kittchen loves you more than you will know, wo-wo-wo.
