Michelle Obama's White House garden initiative, begun to help increase awareness among American children about what, exactly, constitutes healthy eating, is one of the coolest things I've seen a first lady do.
Mrs. Obama's recent plan to involve Iron Chef America (my favorite show) in an attempt to spread publicity about her educational endeavors was genius. The show has a huge fan base, and features some of America's most influential and talented chefs.
The White House Iron Chef America challenge: chefs Comerford and Flay will go up against chefs Lagasse and Batali to create a meal that uses mainly ingredients from the White House garden. I can't wait to see what happens.
